Who we are
bitcoinisbsv.com ("we", "us"). Contact: hello@bitcoinisbsv.com.
What we collect
- Your chosen username — you pick it at signup. It's public.
- An Argon2 hash of your 6-word recovery phrase — we never see the phrase itself in plain text; you keep it.
- A character seed — random bytes we generate to produce your avatar image deterministically.
- Session cookie — a signed, HTTP-only, Secure cookie, used only to remember you're logged in.
- Any BSV public key you submit as a plot owner key.
- URLs, images, and caption text you submit for plots or posters. These are public.
- Forum messages you post. These are public.
- IP addresses in our server access logs, used only for security + rate limiting; logs are rotated regularly.
What we don't collect
No email address. No phone number. No real name unless you choose to post one. No payment card or bank data — BSV is sent peer-to-peer to platform-generated addresses and we never handle fiat.
How we use it
- To let you log in and display your character, posts, and purchases.
- To prevent abuse (rate limiting by IP, report/flag systems).
- To operate the foyer, grid, and forum features you use.
Where it lives
A MongoDB database on a single server in London, UK. Uploaded images are stored on disk on that same server.
Who we share it with
No one, except:
- The public Bitcoin SV blockchain, for data you explicitly publish on-chain (your plot's URL, your owner pubkey, coordinates).
- When legally compelled (court order, lawful investigation).
- Our hosting provider (DigitalOcean) who hosts the server.
Your rights (UK / EU GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data. Email privacy@bitcoinisbsv.com and we will action your request within 30 days. Note: data already published to the blockchain (plot URLs) cannot be deleted from the blockchain — we can only stop displaying it on our site.
Cookies
One session cookie (connect.sid), HTTP-only, Secure, SameSite=Lax. No third-party tracking cookies. No analytics.
Children
Not intended for users under 13. Do not use this service if you are under 13.
